Help

The following information is to help you understand how the 5X Mutant Gum site works. If you still have questions please visit the discussion board on the 5 Gum ANZ Facebook page.

Entering a code

There are two types of codes. Unique codes and hidden codes.

Unique codes are found in packs of Limited Edition 5X Mutant Gum and 5 React™ and can only be used once. Each unique code entered rewards you with a random number of credits and power points. It also gives you an additional chance to win the major prize.

Hidden codes will be released at various times in many different places like banners, websites, Facebook, outdoor posters and even over the radio. Keep an eye out. These codes range from single use only (first person to enter), limited use codes (set number of people can enter the code) or limited by time (code is able to be entered during a set time frame).

Error with a code

Firstly, make sure you are not confusing the number zero (0) with the letter O.

If you enter a code and continue to get an error message that you feel is wrong please contact us via the discussion board.

Icons

This is the total number of codes you have entered. More Mutant items unlock with each new code so this is an easy way to keep track of how many you have entered and how many entries in the prize competition you have.

This is the number of Power Points you have available. Power Points are used to upgrade your Mutants to become stronger in battle.

This is your available credits. You spend credits by buying items for your Mutants. Earn credits by entering codes (unique and hidden), getting "likes" on your Mutants and also battling other Mutants.

Creating a mutant

Creating a mutant is simple. Just follow the on screen prompts. You can restart at anytime. You may create up to twenty Mutants.

Body Type: Choose one of three body types. Each body has different customisation options and different starting stats. These stats only matter when battling.

Customise: Certain items require you to buy them with credits. Others are unlocked when you have entered a certain number of codes. You can choose to customise as much or as little as you want. But make sure your Mutant is clothed!

Choose Side: The time has come to choose a side. Join Professor Xavier or Magneto. This choice affects the Balance of Power bar on the homepage. Which side will hold the power?

Choose a Power: Powers affect your abilities in battle. Certain powers work better against others – battle Mutants to find out how. Choose between Fire, Ice, Water, Electricity or Mind Control.

Attributes: Your attributes can be upgraded with Power Points. You earn Power Points by entering codes and battling. Your attributes greatly affect your battles so manage them for each Mutant wisely. Once you allocate a Power Point and submit you cannot undo.

Battles

You can battle other Mutants to earn XP to level up and gain more Power Points. There is also a prize awarded for the top ranked Mutant at the end of the promotion period.

Each round you can choose a different attack and defence of high, medium or low. Your opponent will do the same. Blocked attacks deal less damage. There is a chance for a "critical" hit which will deal a huge amount of damage and can change the outcome of a battle fast.

Levels

Your Mutant will level up as it earns XP. There are 100 levels in total – it is a simple way to compare two Mutants. Your Mutants' stats also affect how much XP you earn for each battle.

Leaderboard & Stats

The leaderboard and stats are updated every 60 minutes. So if you just finished an epic round of battles and don't see yourself moving up the leaderboard, just wait.
